Turn the blades flat and you get full shade; angle them open and you get filtered light with airflow; close them fully and the system sheds rain like a solid roof. Are adjustable louvre awnings waterproof?
When the blades are closed, the sealed pivot system and blade overlap shed rain effectively, and each system includes an integrated gutter to carry water away. Louvre awnings are not designed to be left partially open during heavy rain — closing the blades is part of normal use, the same way you'd close a window.
Should I choose a manual or motorised louvre awning?
A manual crank system costs less and has fewer moving parts to maintain. A motorised system lets you adjust the blades from a wall switch or remote without reaching the mechanism, which most clients prefer for larger spans or hard-to-reach installations. We'll recommend the right option once we've assessed your site.
How much do louvre awnings cost in South Africa?
